Some of our FAQ's

Q: Do I need to put down a deposit?

A deposit equivalent to one month’s rent + £100.00 will be due at the point of signing the tenancy agreement, along with your first month’s rent. The deposit will then be registered and held with My Deposits Scotland throughout the term of the tenancy. You will receive confirmation through the post that registration of the deposit has been successful. The deposit is held as security against any damage to the property and under no circumstances can it be utilised to cover rent which is due/in arrears

Q. Are references required?

All applications are subject to satisfactory references being obtained. Prior to your occupation of the property, we will also require proof of identification (photographic driving licence/passport). The Landlord may also request a guarantor. The guarantor must be a UK property owner with an adequate income to cover the rent guaranteed. Guarantors will also be requested to complete a Guarantor Information Form and provide photographic identification.

Q: Do I need insurance?

Your landlord must insure the building that you are renting, however his liability does not extend to your possessions. Therefore, you must arrange your own adequate contents insurance to cover these items.

Q: How do I report a problem or repair?

Any maintenance problems must be reported promptly to your Property Manager @ Rentahome (Scotland) Ltd, Unit 3003, Abbey Mill Business Centre, 12 Seedhill Road, Paisley.  Tel: 0141 212 2000

Q: What do I do in case of an emergency?

Emergency repairs are those repairs which are necessary to alleviate, remove or reduce the risk to the safety, security and health of a tenant, the public or the property itself. Emergencies must be reported immediately to your property manager. If an emergency arises outside of office hours, please contact our Emergency Contractor on 0141 889 2210. If the out of hours emergency service is used for non-emergency call outs, the tenant will be liable to meet the extra costs arising from the emergency call out rates.
